A valuable system should strengthen the company rather than create a dependency it cannot understand or manage. Ownership means knowing what the system does, how it performs, where it can fail, and how it can change as the business changes.
The scope should name the workflow, the business owner, the inputs, the outputs, the success metric, the deadline, and the boundary. The company should receive the code, prompts, evaluations, deployment access, and documentation needed to operate the result.
The goal is not simply to deliver software. It is to leave the owner with a working capability, a measurable outcome, and a team that is more capable after the engagement.
